Looking for some activities do with your family this summer? Here are some great examples from our summer camps that you can do with your kids.
Plein Air Painting:
Claude Monet was a great plein air painter. Take your kids to the beach, the park, anywhere cool outside and bring some watercolors. Paint away!
Contour Drawing:
Take your kids out to a local cafe and bring a pencil or a charcoal pencil and a sketch book. Have you kids pick a person they see in the room and draw them. For something fun to spice it up introduce contour drawing. They cannot pick their pencil up off the paper! This helps the artist try not to perfect their picture but loosen up and have some fun!
Fashionistas:
For your kids who love fashion have them come up with their own Fashion Label. Grab a bunch of old magazines and a large piece of paper or cardboard and have them create their "Mood Board" for their label. Have you kids go through the magazines clipping out whatever they see that emphasizes their label's look. A dress, a color, a tropical getaway. Then paste to the large piece of paper or cardboard. Their board should sum up the look and feel of their label. All fashion designers create mood boards to go back to, in order to keep their vision consistent.
